Bedside Manner & Communication- I’ve consulted with several oculoplastic surgeons, and I’ve yet to meet one with communication skills comparable to Dr. John Holds. From the initial consultation through follow-up questions, Dr. John Holds is exceptionally thorough, patient, empathetic, and respectful. Having undergone two prior eyelid surgeries—and experienced poor communication with other oculoplastic surgeons—I deeply value how Dr. Holds treats patients/potential patients as equals. He explains things using proper medical terminology, yet thoughtfully breaks concepts down into layman’s terms when needed. Though I haven’t scheduled my revision yet, Dr. Holds is at the very top of my list because of his empathy, clarity, patience, and genuine respect for his patients’ concerns. While his website previously had limited before-and-after photos, he has recently begun sharing surgical results on Instagram, allowing me to better see his capabilities — which have been very pleasing to the eye (pun intended!). Thanks Dr. Holds!
