This structured recovery period is designed to support optimal healing and ensure patient comfort as their body adjusts. His practice ensures that patients receive attentive guidance throughout this crucial time, reflecting a commitment to not only the surgical outcome but also the entire patient journey from procedure through full recuperation. His medical education traces to New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. His early academic path began at Rutgers College, followed by his graduation from medical school in 1979.

Over four and a half decades, Dr. Markowitz has concentrated his career on aesthetic surgery of the face and body. His practice describes a keen surgical acumen paired with a discerning aesthetic sense aimed at results that appear natural and long-lasting.

Among his areas of focus is the deep plane facelift, a technique that repositions deeper facial tissues rather than simply tightening the skin. This approach targets the SMAS (the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, a layer of muscle and connective tissue beneath the skin).

Dr. Markowitz also offers a broader menu of facial procedures. His listed specialties include facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), chin augmentation, and forehead reduction.

His surgical philosophy centers on natural-looking rejuvenation. Rather than pursuing an overly tightened appearance, the deep plane method he offers aims to restore youthful facial contours by lifting tissue at a deeper anatomical level.

Recovery is a subject Dr. Markowitz's practice takes seriously, as the deep plane facelift involves a structured healing timeline. Patients typically move through initial swelling and bruising toward more refined results over several months.

Dr. Markowitz operates from a dedicated surgery center in Beverly Hills. This state-of-the-art outpatient facility was constructed to replicate the safety and sterility of a hospital operating environment while offering the comfort of a private setting.

His membership in The Aesthetic Society reflects his engagement with the broader aesthetic surgery community. The Aesthetic Society is an organization associated with surgeons who focus on cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Markowitz completed two residencies during his training, building a foundation across general surgery and plastic surgery. He became board-certified in general surgery in 1985 and later in plastic surgery.

Beverly Hills, where Dr. Markowitz practices, has long carried a reputation as a global center for aesthetic medicine. The city attracts patients seeking facial rejuvenation and experienced surgeons in a competitive, discerning market.

Dr. Markowitz has also contributed commentary to the academic conversation around the deep plane facelift, including insight referenced in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) literature. This reflects his ongoing engagement with the evolution of facelift technique.

Patients considering facial surgery often value a surgeon who listens carefully during the planning stage. Dr. Markowitz's approach emphasizes understanding each patient's goals before recommending a surgical plan.

For women exploring rejuvenation of facial aging, Dr. Markowitz offers decades of focused experience in one of the world's most recognized aesthetic surgery destinations. His long-standing practice in Beverly Hills places him within an established community of facial surgery specialists.

I have nothing but an excellent review of Dr. Markowitz. I went for several consults prior. I was VERY nervous about looking bad/ weird/ artificial/ different etc. I am thrilled to say he did an excellent very natural job. Not only that there was no bruising due to his techinque. His incisions are super thin, hidden & ver neat. There was no pain at all for me. Most people I have seen post surgery are extremely bruised. I typically bruise if the wind blows against me so how he was able to accomplish this was truly unbelievable. I am not familiar with how incisions should look but the hairdresser told me she sees scars all the time & when she saw me I was only 3 weeks out & she was truly amazed by the neat meticulous work. He was very kind & saw me every few days. I hear sometimes the doctors send their assistants to take out the staples, etc. He did all the work himself. He comes in on his "non working days" just to make sure his post surgical patients are healing as planned. I am very very grateful.

My daughter was always unhappy with her nose. As an adult she decided to make a change. We met with Dr. Markowitz and he made wonderful suggestions on how she could improve her her look. She is wildly happy with the results, and now has the confidence she was lacking in her youth. Dr Markowitz and his staff are amazing.

I am thrilled with my results from the 2 procedures I've had done by Dr. Markowitz. He really listened to me when we first talked about what was bothering me. He didn't try to sell me, and I didn't leave his office with a list of more things I needed to have done than when I got there. I felt safe and comfortable from beginning to end. I couldn't recommend him more highly. He is truly a breath of fresh air in Beverly Hills.

Dr. Bernard Markowitz approaches the deep plane facelift as a technique focused on repositioning deeper facial tissues rather than merely tightening skin. This distinction is central to how the procedure produces natural, lasting rejuvenation.

The deep plane facelift works below the SMAS layer — the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, a sheet of muscle and connective tissue that supports the face. As facial aging progresses, this layer descends, contributing to sagging cheeks, jowls, and deepened folds.
