Dr. Guy Watts specializes in the deep plane facelift, a sophisticated surgical technique central to his facial rejuvenation services in Perth. This advanced method involves meticulously repositioning the deeper facial tissues, specifically beneath the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer. By addressing the underlying structures, Dr. Watts aims to achieve results that are not only more natural in appearance but also significantly longer-lasting compared to traditional facelift approaches. He emphasizes that this technique represents a significant evolution in facial plastic surgery, allowing for a comprehensive correction of facial aging at multiple tissue levels, which contributes to a more holistic and effective rejuvenation.

His surgical education began at the University of Toronto, a training background he later carried into specialist practice within the Australian system. This combination of North American and Australian training informs his approach to facial surgery.

Dr. Watts is recognized for concentrating on procedures that address facial aging, including the deep plane facelift, brow lift, neck lift, and facial reconstruction. Each of these procedures works with the deeper structures of the face rather than the skin alone.

The deep plane facelift is a technique that repositions the deeper layers of facial tissue, offering a more natural rejuvenation than older skin-only methods. Dr. Watts approaches this procedure with an emphasis on preserving natural facial expression.

His practice at Clinispa is structured to support patients through the full journey — from initial assessment through recovery. Recovery from a deep plane facelift typically unfolds over several months, and Dr. Watts's team is oriented toward guiding patients across this timeline.

Dr. Guy Watts is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, a professional body that reflects engagement with the broader specialty community. Membership of this kind indicates ongoing participation in the field of plastic surgery.

Beyond facial surgery, Dr. Watts's broader practice extends to reconstructive work and a range of aesthetic procedures, giving him familiarity with both cosmetic and reconstructive facial anatomy. This breadth can be an asset when addressing complex facial rejuvenation.

His clinical philosophy centers on personalized assessment. Rather than applying a single technique to every patient, Dr. Watts evaluates each face individually to determine which approach — SMAS (the supportive layer of tissue beneath the skin), deep plane, or a combination — best suits the patient's anatomy.

Perth, the capital of Western Australia, provides the setting for Dr. Watts's practice. Known as one of the world's most isolated major cities, Perth offers a calm, private environment that many patients find suited to facial surgery recovery.

Dr. Watts maintains a presence on Instagram at @drguywatts, where prospective patients can gain a sense of his work and practice. This transparency reflects a broader trend among plastic surgeons toward accessible patient education.

His focus on the deep plane technique aligns him with a modern school of facelift surgery that prioritizes longevity and natural results. The deep plane approach addresses the underlying tissue structure, which contributes to results that age more gracefully over time.

Dr. Guy Watts treats facial rejuvenation as a considered, individualized process rather than a one-size-fits-all procedure. Patients considering facial surgery in Perth may find his combination of training, specialty focus, and established practice relevant to their research.

For women considering a deep plane facelift, understanding a surgeon's specific focus matters, and Dr. Watts's concentration on facial procedures reflects a defined area of clinical interest. His work spans the full spectrum of facial aging, from the brow to the neck.

Dr. Watts's profile on DeepPlane.com forms part of a global directory of deep plane facelift surgeons spanning more than 65 countries, offering prospective patients a reference point for their research into facial rejuvenation surgery.

I had an amazing experience with the team at CliniSpa and couldn’t be happier with my breast augmentation results. I’m so grateful to Dr. Watts for the incredible work…absolute perfection. The nurses have also been wonderful, regularly checking in and always available to answer any questions. The entire process was clear and easy to follow, with no hidden costs, so I always knew exactly what to expect. Even six weeks post-surgery, the ongoing follow-up appointments have made me feel supported and confident that my results are being carefully monitored. I truly couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Dr Guy Watts and his team. The entire team made me feel comfortable, informed, and well supported at all times. Dr Guy Watts is incredibly skilled and meticulous. He approached my surgery plan and desired outcome with the highest level of integrity, taking the time to ensure everything was carefully considered and aligned to achieve the best possible result for me. I'm so pleased with my results so far, and the level of aftercare provided following my surgery has really set this team apart for me. Sophie, the patient care coordinator, has been so helpful and lovely in guiding me through the whole process. I'm so grateful for the world-class care I've received and would absolutely recommend Dr Guy Watts and his team to anyone considering surgery. You will not be disappointed.

I can’t recommend Dr Watts as a surgeon highly enough. I underwent a two-stage mastopexy and breast augmentation, spaced 12 months apart. I’m now three months post my final surgery, and I’m so thrilled with my end results. Dr Watts went through both surgeries in great detail, what would happen, recovery expectations, and the pro’s/con’s of doing these surgeries as one, or separately. I felt for me, based on the options he gave me, that I was more comfortable doing them separately and spacing each surgery 12 months apart. I did not regret my decision, trusted my instincts, and so glad I took the route I did. Dr Watts was excellent and went through the surgeries in a lot of detail, was happy to answer my many questions, and I felt very well prepared mentally and physically before each surgery. His anesthetist Dr Fergie was also excellent. It’s been a 2 year journey all up, but my final results are incredible and life changing - I feel like a new person, my body confidence is higher, and when I look at my pre-photos to now, it’s nothing short of miracle how different I look. Dr Watts is an exceptionally talented surgeon, with a caring manner and pays high attention to every detail of your case. His clinical nurse care and office team are also amazing - kind, caring and highly professional. They are on the journey with you and take such great care of you at all stages. If you are considering any form of breast surgery, you will not be disappointed in any way by choosing Dr Watts as your surgeon. My hope is that you will be as delighted with your final results as I have been with mine.

Dr. Watts's Surgical Approach

Dr. Guy Watts approaches the deep plane facelift by working beneath the SMAS layer — the supportive sheet of muscle and connective tissue that lies under the skin and controls much of the face's structural support.

Dr. Guy Watts approaches the deep plane facelift by working beneath the SMAS layer — the supportive sheet of muscle and connective tissue that lies under the skin and controls much of the face's structural support. This technique distinguishes the deep plane method from more traditional skin-only or SMAS-tightening approaches.

The deep plane facelift involves what surgeons call sub-SMAS dissection. This means the surgical plane is developed underneath the SMAS layer, allowing the skin and deeper tissues to be lifted together as one unit rather than being separated and tightened individually.
