Hi , I recently had a bilateral lower face & neck lift performed by Dr Catherine Boorer who was excellent both as a surgeon and as a caring doctor who treated me an individual, was never rushed, and listened to my concerns and questions , always addressing them immediately and answering them completely. Dr Boorer explained everything simply from the first consultation through pre-op , the operation and post-op , so that the whole process was seamless, smooth and painless. I am more than happy with the results which have exceeded my expectations. I recommend Dr Boorer unreservedly and without hesitation.

I really can’t recommend Dr Boorer more highly. I had lost a massive amount of weight and chose Dr Boorer as my surgeon after speaking with my other colleagues at work,(I’m a nurse). She already came highly recommended and after my first consultation I knew she was the right choice for me. I had a two part surgical procedure to remove excess skin from my stomach, back, then my arms and thighs. Her bedside and manner and post operative care have been excellent, if I had an issue I could call or email the rooms and would be replied to promptly and all my questions answered. Again, if you are looking for a surgeon who understands the woman’s figure and also provides incredible surgical skills, I think you’ve found the right Surgeon with Dr Boorer.

The deep plane facelift technique employed in modern facial rejuvenation surgery represents a sophisticated evolution from traditional facelift methods. This approach specifically targets the SMAS layer — the fibromuscular tissue that provides structural support to facial soft tissues.

Unlike superficial techniques that only tighten skin, deep plane dissection releases the SMAS from its attachments to underlying structures. This liberation allows for comprehensive repositioning of descended facial tissues to their more youthful anatomical positions.

Recovery from a deep plane facelift typically involves 2-3 weeks of initial healing, with most visible bruising resolving within 7-10 days and sutures removed at days 7-10. International patients can generally travel home after 10-14 days once swelling has stabilised and wound checks are complete. Most patients return to desk work at 2-3 weeks and to exercise at 4-6 weeks. Final results become visible after 3-6 months as deep tissue swelling fully resolves. Dr. Catherine Boorer provides a personalised recovery timeline during consultation.

Deep plane facelift results typically last 10-15 years, significantly longer than traditional SMAS or mini-facelift procedures, which tend to last 5-8 years. The deep plane technique repositions deeper facial tissues — including the SMAS-platysma composite and the released retaining ligaments — rather than simply tightening skin, which produces more natural, longer-lasting rejuvenation. Longevity also depends on individual ageing biology, sun exposure, smoking status, and skincare. Dr. Catherine Boorer can discuss expected outcomes for your anatomy during consultation.
