He completed his medical education at Cornell University, a foundation that informs an approach rooted in facial anatomy. His clinical attention remains fixed on the face and neck rather than the whole body — a narrow focus that many patients seek when researching a deep plane facelift.

The deep plane facelift is a technique that lifts and repositions the deeper muscle and connective tissue layer of the face, rather than simply tightening the skin. Dr. Rizk works within this layer to address sagging jowls, loose neck tissue, and the descent of facial fat that accompanies aging.

His stated specialties include deep plane facelift, neck lift, facial rejuvenation, and revision surgery. Revision work — correcting or improving results from a prior operation — is an area that many surgeons decline, yet it features prominently in Dr. Rizk's practice.

Dr. Rizk has been recognized in national media, including a feature on The Today Show discussing rhinoplasty. He has also appeared as a guest on a surgical podcast episode devoted to revisional facelift surgery, a subject he addresses openly.

Rhytidectomy — the medical term for a surgical facelift — sits at the heart of his practice. For patients aged 55 to 65 considering their first or a repeat procedure, this technical depth is often a deciding factor.

His membership in professional bodies includes The Rhinoplasty Society and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. These affiliations signal ongoing engagement with peers who share a facial surgery focus.

Dr. Rizk's practice emphasizes shorter, more comfortable recovery through refined surgical technique. Recovery timelines vary by patient, but the goal is to return people to daily life without an obviously operated appearance.

The approach he describes favors tissue repositioning over skin tension. This distinction matters because facelifts that rely on pulling skin can look tight or unnatural, while deeper-layer techniques aim to restore youthful contours.

Manhattan's Park Avenue location places his practice within one of the world's established centers for facial plastic surgery. New York draws patients who research extensively before committing to a surgeon.

Dr. Sam Rizk treats both cosmetic and reconstructive concerns of the face and neck. His case portfolio spans facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, and facial fat transfer alongside his rhinoplasty work.

Facial aging affects each person differently, and his consultations focus on individual anatomy rather than a single standardized procedure. This personalized assessment underpins the surgical plan he proposes.

For women in their late fifties and early sixties, the decision to pursue a deep plane facelift is significant. Dr. Rizk's combination of long experience, dual certification, and narrow facial focus is what many such patients weigh when choosing where to have surgery in New York.

I had the privilege of undergoing a highly complex revision deep plane facelift and neck lift with Dr. Sam Rizk, and the experience was truly exceptional. Revision facial surgery is among the most technically demanding procedures in aesthetic medicine, and from the very beginning it was clear that Dr. Rizk operates at an extraordinary level of mastery. His surgical precision, aesthetic judgment, and calm confidence reflect decades of experience at the very highest level of the field. What makes Dr. Rizk particularly remarkable is that he embodies what a true master should be: someone who is constantly learning, refining, and pushing the boundaries of the craft, while at the same time teaching and elevating other surgeons who are already considered leaders in their own professions. The level of teaching and learning that he represents goes far beyond marketing or reputation — it is visible in the depth of his knowledge, his attention to detail, and the natural, refined results he achieves. Equally impressive is the attentiveness and professionalism of the entire team. My sincere thanks go to Tatiana, Dila, Aga, and everyone involved in the process. Their warmth, organization, and dedication made the entire experience smooth and reassuring from beginning to end. It is clear that outstanding results like these are also the product of a highly coordinated and committed team. Choosing a surgeon for complex facial surgery is an important decision, and patients should be extremely thoughtful about whom they trust. In my experience, if you choose Dr. Sam Rizk, you are absolutely on the right path. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Rizk and his entire team.

I’m a 59-year-old male who had a deep-plane facelift and neck lift last year with Dr. Amir Karam in San Diego, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I developed an infection in his operating room, had a long, difficult recovery, and was left with loose, sagging skin in my lower face and neck that didn’t match at all. I also had a few visible scars that were obvious giveaways I’d had surgery. After months of expressing concern, Dr. Karam finally saw me at the 12-month mark and told me not to “chase perfection,” that it was “good enough,” and there was “very little to fix.” He minimized the extent of the failed surgery and said the risk–reward ratio was too far out of sync—that any improvements would be so minimal they weren’t worth doing. I left that appointment feeling discouraged and disappointed. The irony is that Dr. Sam Rizk went on to perform major corrective work that completely transformed my result. A close friend and dermatologist, Dr. Paul Frank, confirmed what I already suspected—that my result wasn’t good—and referred me to Dr. Rizk in New York. From the moment I met Dr. Rizk, I knew I had finally found the right surgeon. Within 30 minutes of meeting him, I booked my surgery. He’s on another level entirely—skilled, precise, and genuine. Dr. Rizk is a world-renowned facial plastic surgeon who not only operates but also teaches and performs live surgeries at major international conferences. In 2025, he was the selected surgeon to perform a live deep-plane facelift at the Baker Gordon Symposium in Miami—the most important symposium in the field—and he’s already been invited back for 2026. He also teaches at the NYC Facelift & Rhinoplasty Masterclass and pioneered the use of tissue sealant instead of drains, which made my recovery incredibly easy. I’m now only one week post-op, and the difference is astonishing: no bruising, very little swelling, and scars that are barely visible. My results look natural, balanced, and refreshed. His artistry, humility, and attention to detail are unmatched—and his team (Dila, Tatyana, and Jolanta) are exceptional. If you’re considering a facelift or revision, don’t be fooled by marketing or social-media hype. Go to the surgeon who truly masters the craft. Dr. Sam Rizk is the real deal—an artist, a perfectionist, and one of the very best in the world. The fact that he’s chosen to teach and perform live at the most prestigious symposiums in plastic surgery says it all—he’s truly among the top 1 percent of surgeons in his field.

Dr. Rizk's Surgical Approach

Dr. Sam Rizk approaches the deep plane facelift by working beneath the skin at the level of the deeper facial tissues, rather than tightening the surface alone.

Dr. Sam Rizk approaches the deep plane facelift by working beneath the skin at the level of the deeper facial tissues, rather than tightening the surface alone. This technique targets the SMAS — the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, a layer of muscle and connective tissue that supports the face — to reposition sagging structures at their source.

In a deep plane facelift, the surgeon releases and lifts the SMAS layer as a single unit together with the overlying skin. Dr. Rizk performs this sub-SMAS dissection to free the tissues from the ligaments that tether them, allowing the cheek and jowl to be repositioned upward and slightly back.
