Signature technique

Dr. Mark Fisher places a significant emphasis on the deep plane facelift as a core component of his facial rejuvenation practice. This sophisticated surgical method involves carefully releasing and repositioning facial tissues at a deeper anatomical level compared to traditional facelift techniques. By meticulously addressing the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) layer, Dr. Fisher aims to achieve a more comprehensive and enduring repositioning of the facial structures. This approach is particularly effective in addressing common concerns such as midface sagging, the appearance of jowls, and laxity in the neck area, contributing to a more refreshed and harmonious facial aesthetic for his patients.

Dr. Fisher completed his medical education at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, an institution long associated with academic rigor and surgical training. His background there informs a careful, evidence-minded approach to aesthetic surgery.

His clinical practice centers on the deep plane facelift, a technique that works beneath the muscular layer of the face to reposition tissue rather than simply tightening skin. This approach is favored by many surgeons for its ability to address deeper facial aging.

Dr. Fisher also offers a broad range of facial rejuvenation procedures, from neck lift and brow lift to eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. This range allows him to tailor treatment plans to each patient's anatomy and goals.

Beyond surgery, Dr. Fisher provides aesthetic treatments including injectables, laser resurfacing, and skin-tightening technologies. Many patients begin with these less-invasive options before considering surgical rejuvenation.

Dr. Fisher's approach emphasizes preserving natural expression while restoring youthful contour. The goal of a deep plane facelift, in his practice, is a refreshed appearance rather than an obviously operated one.

He is affiliated with Stamford Health, giving patients access to an established clinical and surgical setting. Facility quality is an important factor in both safety and recovery for facial surgery.

Dr. Fisher holds membership in the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons, a professional body connecting surgeons across the region. Society membership reflects engagement with peers and ongoing professional standards.

His practice draws on both aesthetic and reconstructive experience, a combination that sharpens surgical judgment. Reconstructive training often deepens a surgeon's understanding of facial anatomy and tissue behavior.

Dr. Fisher shares educational and case content through his Instagram account, @drmarkfisher, where prospective patients can learn about facial procedures. Social channels increasingly help patients understand a surgeon's aesthetic sensibility before consultation.

Recovery is a central part of the conversation Dr. Fisher has with every deep plane facelift patient. Most patients plan for a period of initial swelling and bruising before returning to social activities, with final results emerging over several months.

Patients considering surgery with Dr. Fisher in New York typically value a thorough consultation, realistic expectations, and a surgeon who listens carefully. His practice structure is built around individualized planning.

Dr. Fisher works within a competitive New York market that includes many experienced facial surgeons. Within that landscape, his combination of Johns Hopkins training, ABPS certification, and more than a decade of practice defines his profile.

For women in their fifties and sixties exploring facial rejuvenation, Dr. Mark Fisher represents an established option grounded in formal credentials and a focus on the deep plane technique. His practice welcomes those researching their options carefully and unhurriedly.

Using a shared account-this is Cathy I am a retired RN who worked on a hospital surgical floor for many years. In Oct 2025 I had multiple Moh’s procedures for early melanoma skin cancer on my left cheek resulting in a 2 inch in diameter hole near my left eye. My Moh’s MD emphatically recommended Dr Mark Fisher for facial reconstruction - said “That’s who I would go to”. Now I wholeheartedly agree and highly recommend Dr Fisher and his team. He went out of his way to get my surgery scheduled asap which was on the day before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving morning he had me come to his office for a post op check - it was about doing what was best for me even on a holiday. I am very pleased with the results of my facial reconstruction. His excellent surgical skills, professionalism, communications and mannerisms bring to my mind one word - trust. Thank you Dr. Fisher for giving your all.

Dr. Mark Fisher approaches the deep plane facelift as a procedure that repositions the deeper structural layers of the face rather than merely tightening surface skin. This distinction is central to how modern facial rejuvenation differs from older lifting techniques.

The deep plane technique works with the SMAS (the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, a layer of muscle and connective tissue beneath the skin). Rather than pulling on skin alone, this layer is released and lifted as a unit.
