I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Zac Moevani during a recent consultation for a nose injury sustained after being hit in the face with a cricket ball. I was referred under an ACC claim and waited over six months for this appointment, only to leave feeling dismissed and unheard. Dr. Moevani was unprofessional and dismissive of my concerns. I explained that I was experiencing ongoing breathing difficulties and had recently developed snoring which is unusual for me following the injury. Despite this, he quickly concluded that my case wasn’t “serious enough” to warrant an ACC covered rhinoplasty. Frankly, I don’t believe it’s his place to decide whether my nose is “bad” enough, especially when he’s not the one dealing with the physical and emotional impact every day. What was most frustrating was his apparent lack of empathy or willingness to explore options. He seemed more concerned about gatekeeping the process than providing a helpful, patient-focused consultation. If he had no intention of taking my case seriously, he could’ve been upfront from the start. Instead, I’ve wasted half a year, and now I’m back at square one having to wait months again just to see another surgeon. This experience has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. If you're seeking a surgeon who listens, takes injuries seriously, and respects your time I would recommend looking elsewhere.
