Dr. Kassir's Surgical Approach
Dr. Kassir's approach to deep plane facelift surgery involves precise dissection beneath the SMAS layer, allowing for comprehensive repositioning of facial tissues that have descended with age.
Dr. Kassir's approach to deep plane facelift surgery involves precise dissection beneath the SMAS layer, allowing for comprehensive repositioning of facial tissues that have descended with age. The SMAS represents a fibromuscular layer that envelops the face, connecting to key structures including the platysma muscle in the neck and the temporoparietal fascia near the temples.
During deep plane dissection, the surgeon works beneath this layer to release specific ligamentous attachments that tether facial tissues, enabling more natural and lasting elevation of the midface and jawline. This sub-SMAS approach differs fundamentally from traditional facelift techniques that primarily address skin laxity without repositioning the deeper structural elements. The release of retaining ligaments — particularly the zygomatic and masseteric cutaneous ligaments — allows for vertical vector repositioning that restores youthful facial contours without creating tension on the skin.

Kivork Shadoyan, RN, was excellent. He took the time to explain my lip filler procedure so clearly and made me feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. He was professional, kind, and very knowledgeable. Dr. Kassir’s office staff was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was a great experience overall
I struggled with recurrent sinus infections my entire life. I finally got some imaging and my septum was deviated and there were some structural issues. I met with a few surgeons who could not guarantee that my face/septum/nose wouldn't look different after they fixed everything. I went to Dr. Kassir after extensive research and he was the only one who made me feel comfortable. He has done thousands of similar procedures and that is who you want to go with! It is a very anxiety-provoking process, but the day of my procedure I learned that my RN (Jamie) and the OR team had worked with Dr. Kassir for years. That is so rare in healthcare and it made me feel comfortable immediately. I live far away, so did virtual follow-ups and I was so happy that I could do that. Kivork was amazing and so helpful. This office most likely deals with lots of crazy people, so their policies are strict for a reason. I haven't had one sinus infection since the procedure and everything looks perfect.
