A friend of mine had a deep plane procedure with Dr Karolak 5 years ago. I own a Pilates studio and talk to many woman daily. One brought up his name and I said... I'll go with you for a consultation. I instantly felt connected and safe with Dr Karolak. He agreed, I didn't really need it now but understands why I would get it done before the real damage occurs. At 52 I decided, this is what I want now so that I can age gracefully and heal better at a younger age. The entire process was extremely thorough and well planned out. Both Pre and Post Opp has been an amazing experience. His staff is always responsive and ready to help with questions. I think it's important that an amazing doctor has an amazing staff. It speaks volumes. I'm one week out and already healing so well. I'm so happy I did this and cant wait to see what the future holds in my aging process.
At 47 years old (going on 48), my jawline and developing jowls were really starting to bother me. I had never had any type of surgery before, so deciding to move forward with a procedure was not something I took lightly. Naturally, I was nervous. I spent a significant amount of time researching surgeons before making my decision. I work in the medical field and spend time in the operating room, so I approached this process with a very careful and informed perspective. After meeting with Dr. Mark Karolak, I felt confident that I had found the right surgeon. From the very first consultation, Dr. Karolak was professional, thorough, and extremely attentive. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I fully understood the procedure, the recovery process, and what to realistically expect. I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated how thoughtful and detail-oriented he was. The entire experience—from the front desk staff to the surgical team and post-operative care—was exceptional. Everyone in the office was kind, organized, and supportive, which made the entire process much less stressful. The surgery itself went smoothly, and I felt very well cared for throughout the entire experience. Dr. Karolak and his team were attentive during recovery and always available to address any questions or concerns. Overall, my experience was excellent. As someone who works in healthcare and is familiar with the operating room environment, I had high expectations, and Dr. Karolak and his team exceeded them. I am very grateful for the care I received and would absolutely recommend him to anyone considering facial rejuvenation surgery.
My mother and I stopped by for an initial consultation for a facelift. Everything went pretty well through the preparation process (facial photos taken before brought to the consultation room, staff was very nice). My mom is pretty soft spoken and it's hard for her to communicate sometimes, so she brings me along to help her understand the process. During the consultation, my mom tells Dr. Karolak she's looking to rejuvenate her face after years of heavy stress so she can start a new life for herself. However, Dr. Karolak repeatedly emphasized that she was "too sad on the inside" and that "no amount of plastic surgery was going to fix it" throughout the entire presentation, which we felt was a grossly inappropriate response to a client who expressed she was fine with the inherent risks of the procedure. At the end of the consultation, he tells us that he can't "fix her frown" because "she has to fix herself," to "try Botox or a filler," and that he's refunding our consultation fee. I'm pretty sure that his NP (who was also sitting in the room with us) was surprised, because she was excited for my mom and her aspirations to start her new life. As someone who regularly interacts with many medical professionals, this was probably one of the more disrespectful interactions I've experienced. There were definitely other ways to respectfully decline a client if Dr. Karolak was uncomfortable, unsure or simply didn't want to take us on. Telling us she was inoperable simply because Dr. Karolak chose to play therapist during our meeting was not the right play.
