4.8 / 5 · 121 Google reviewsWow! I'm sitting here just 12 days after surgery.. and I can breathe deeply through my nose with no effort at all. And let me tell you, that was not normal for YEARS. "As easy as breathing" is not a phrase I could particularly relate to - I used to strain to breathe deeply through my nose, I was easily winded after exercise, I had sleep apnea, was sick frequently, you name it. So I know this is an early review 12 days out, but you can understand why I was excited and wanted to start writing it (I will update if there are any issues going forward) For context, my surgery with Dr. Weinfeld was very complicated and functional - fixing a deviated septum (septoplasty), turbinate outfracture, and adding cartilage at the base of my nose to fix a collapsing nostril (rhinoplasty). So as you can imagine, the first few days after surgery were very difficult. If you plan on something equally multifaceted, be aware that you will definitely need dedicated time off after surgery. I assume that something like a septoplasty by itself would be a speedier recovery. But WOW is it worth the surgery preparation time and a few days of pain and being out of commission to get a result like this. Breathing deeply with my mouth closed and not even trying to pull in air feels incredible! And, as a complete bonus, my ability to sing has improved! I love singing, and I'm happy to say that already it's noticably easier to control my airflow in and out when I do. Maybe that part was obvious - but my resonance appears to have improved as well! Perhaps from my nose now having two equal sides instead of a large deviation between the two. Overall, it just feels easier to produce the sounds, which feels wonderful. As for the experience outside of surgery, Dr. Weinfeld and the nurses and staff were always very friendly on every single visit, which I appreciated since surgery is always a little scary. And he was very clear and detialed in answering all of my many questions before and after surgery day. I’m also very happy there were 3 followup appointments after the surgery to make sure everything was going well and to answer questions. I chose Dr Weinfeld because I thought he was the best. And he not only gave me a more complete diagnosis and set of surgery options than I was orginally told about elsewhere, but seems to have executed those options incredibly well! I’m very happy with my decision. Thank you again Dr. Weinfeld! (As a side note - I can't speak to the new shape of my nose since it will take weeks to settle in, but right now I can say that it looks more symmetrical than before surgery and there are no visible issues.)
