What recent patients say
4.8 / 5 · 259 Google reviewsI had a co-surgical procedure with Dr. Azad and Dr. Gauger and I cannot express how blessed and thrilled I am with the results!! They did such a fantastic job, and from preop to post op I have been taken care of with such a personal touch. I’m so thankful to them and their team, and highly recommend trusting either of them with your care!
I always have a great experience here! The practice is absolutely beautiful, the staff is warm and personable, and the level of care is top-notch. I have been seeing Stefany for a few years now for lasers. She most recently did a Sofwave treatment on my face and knees. I couldn’t be happier with both the experience and my results. Highly recommend!
They have an outstanding team that prioritizes patient comfort and is deeply committed to delivering the best possible results! Will add photos when I'm done healing 😉
I’ll try to remember to update with Before & After photos of my husband, but: two friends and my husband have now all had deep plane neck and face lifts by Dr. Frautschi and their results are phenomenal - they still look like themselves, only like much younger, more refreshed versions. Not a shred of tacky “OMG guess who’s had work done!” look to any of them. Dr. Frautschi is a rising face lift star and now is the perfect time to catch him because he is in that sweet spot of being well experienced, extremely skilled, and confident but also so full of joy in what he does. Get your consultation before he becomes too famous and has to charge exponentially more! His background is impressive - chief resident at the Cleveland Clinic, then working in a top Bay Area plastic surgery practice - but he is also just a delightfully kind and sweet person. And his undergrad was at UT Austin, so he’s a local guy returned to the home turf! If you are seriously considering getting a neck/face/and or brown lift, facial filler with your own fat, upper and or lower blepharoplasty: my suggestion is to stop by the practice and ask to look through some of his Before and After books, it will be more current and comprehensive to give you a much better idea of what he accomplishes than the fewer images that are on their website. Then you could book your consultation if you are impressed. I think it is really worth comparing at least a few surgeons before you pick one, it is the only face you have, after all. But of course you can tell I think his work stands out as that of one of the top level facial surgeons in Austin.

Dr. Paul's Surgical Approach
Dr. Sean Paul's approach to deep plane facelift surgery focuses on comprehensive facial rejuvenation through meticulous dissection and repositioning of the SMAS layer.
Dr. Sean Paul's approach to deep plane facelift surgery focuses on comprehensive facial rejuvenation through meticulous dissection and repositioning of the SMAS layer. The deep plane technique, as performed by experienced surgeons, involves releasing the facial retaining ligaments and mobilizing the entire SMAS-platysma complex as a unified layer, allowing for more natural and lasting results compared to traditional facelift methods. This surgical approach addresses facial aging at its structural foundation, repositioning descended facial fat compartments and restoring youthful facial contours without creating an overly tight or windswept appearance.
The sub-SMAS dissection plane provides several advantages, including preservation of facial nerve branches, improved blood supply to the skin flap, and the ability to reposition facial tissues in their natural vectors of aging. During the procedure, careful attention is paid to the malar fat pad, which often descends with age, creating hollowing in the midface and deepening of the nasolabial folds. The deep plane approach allows for vertical elevation of these structures, restoring midface volume without the need for additional fat grafting or fillers in many cases.

Initial recovery involves managing swelling and bruising, which peak around days 3-5 before gradually subsiding, with most visible bruising resolving within 10-14 days. Sutures are generally removed at one week, though deep plane technique often results in less tension on incision lines, potentially improving scar quality.
Patients commonly return to desk work and light activities at 2-3 weeks, though individual healing rates vary based on factors including age, health status, and adherence to post-operative instructions. The deep plane approach may result in prolonged swelling compared to superficial techniques, but this typically translates to more natural, longer-lasting results. Social readiness often occurs around week 3-4, when residual swelling becomes subtle enough that casual observers won't detect recent surgery.
