Dr. Tiagonce's Surgical Approach
The deep plane facelift technique involves releasing and repositioning the SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) layer as a composite unit with overlying skin, creating more natural and lasting results than traditional facelift approaches. This advanced procedure requires dissection beneath the SMAS layer, allowing surgeons to reposition deeper facial structures including ligaments and fat compartments that descend with age.
The sub-SMAS dissection plane provides access to release key retaining ligaments — particularly the zygomatic and masseteric cutaneous ligaments — enabling comprehensive facial tissue mobilization without tension on the skin.
Modern deep plane techniques emphasize vertical vector repositioning rather than lateral pulling, which recreates youthful facial contours while avoiding the windswept appearance associated with older facelift methods. The procedure typically addresses the midface, jowls, and neck in a single operation, with tissue repositioning occurring at the deepest structural levels for maximum longevity of results. Surgeons performing deep plane facelifts must navigate complex facial anatomy including facial nerve branches that run through the operative field, requiring extensive training and precise surgical technique.

The procedure's complexity and longer operative time compared to traditional facelifts naturally results in higher pricing, as surgeons must account for extended operating room usage and specialized anatomical expertise. Recovery Expectations
Deep plane facelift recovery follows a predictable timeline, with the first 48-72 hours requiring close monitoring as initial swelling peaks and drainage tubes are typically removed. Week one involves managing bruising and swelling through cold compresses, head elevation, and prescribed medications, with most patients feeling comfortable with light activities by day 4-5.

Week one involves managing bruising and swelling through cold compresses, head elevation, and prescribed medications, with most patients feeling comfortable with light activities by day 4-5. The second week sees dramatic improvement in facial swelling, though residual puffiness may persist around the midface and neck regions where deep plane dissection was most extensive.
Social readiness typically occurs around weeks 3-4, when makeup can camouflage remaining bruising and swelling has reduced enough for natural facial contours to emerge. The deep plane technique's comprehensive tissue repositioning may result in slightly longer initial swelling compared to superficial procedures, but this investment yields more natural, lasting results. Three months post-surgery marks a significant milestone when approximately 80% of swelling has resolved and patients can appreciate their rejuvenated facial contours.

Years of Experience
25+ years
I've entrusted myself to Dr. Granado Tiagonce and his team twice. Merce (the nurse) is a wonderful person and a superb professional, and her colleague Maider (the receptionist) always greets you with a smile and tries to schedule appointments so that everything goes smoothly. My first surgery was in 2001 (breast augmentation). Twenty-five years after that surgery, from which I was thrilled and never had any problems, I returned to Dr. Granado in December 2025 for my second surgery: the removal of the implants and a mastopexy. I'm delighted with the result. Honestly, I didn't feel a thing; the recovery was very easy. For all of this, I would like to thank Dr. Granado and his team. They have been invaluable to me and have always made me happy with the results. Very professional and very nice people, I will always be grateful.
I'm very happy with the clinic. I had a blepharoplasty and a lip lift. Both procedures went wonderfully, the effect was more than I expected, and the recovery was very quick (even though I had two procedures done at the same time). I must highlight the excellent communication with the clinic. It's clear the doctor has a lot of experience, as I had previously discussed the lip augmentation with two different doctors at other clinics, and they weren't convinced at all... Dr. Granado did a fantastic job; the scar is barely noticeable, and the result is very satisfying. Thank you so much!
