Board certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) forms the foundation of his credentials. This certification reflects specialized training in the anatomy of the face, head, and neck — the exact regions involved in a rhytidectomy (the medical term for a facelift).
His clinical focus is the deep plane facelift, a technique that repositions the deeper facial tissues rather than simply tightening the skin. This approach addresses facial aging at its structural source, producing results that tend to appear more natural and last longer.
Dr. Alemi's approach emphasizes subtlety. Rather than pulling the skin taut, he works beneath the SMAS (the superficial musculoaponeurotic system — the muscular layer that gives the face its structure), lifting and repositioning tissue as a single unit.
Beyond the deep plane facelift, Dr. Alemi performs a range of facial rejuvenation procedures. His surgical menu includes neck lift, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, brow lift, chin augmentation, fat transfer, and lip lift — allowing him to tailor a plan to each face.
He is also recognized for his expertise in male facial procedures. In media interviews, Dr. Alemi has discussed techniques such as sliding genioplasty (a procedure in which the chin bone is cut and advanced forward) as part of the growing interest in men's facial enhancement.
Dr. Alemi has appeared in national media to explain modern facelift techniques. He has been featured in an inside look at the deep-plane facelift and has broken down facelift pricing for the Tamron Hall Show, positioning him as a clear communicator on a complex subject.
Recovery is a central part of how Dr. Alemi counsels patients. He prepares each person for the realistic timeline of a deep plane facelift, where swelling and bruising resolve over the first weeks and final results continue to refine over several months.
His New York practice reflects the city itself — precise, discerning, and internationally aware. New York remains one of the world's most established centers for facial plastic surgery, and Dr. Alemi's work sits within that demanding environment.
Artistry is a recurring theme in how Dr. Alemi describes his work, captured by his practice motto, "Where Artistry Meets Precision." He views each facelift as a balance between technical skill and aesthetic judgment.
Dr. Sean Alemi treats patients seeking both surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation. His practice offers injectables, laser resurfacing, microneedling, and skincare alongside surgery, giving patients a full spectrum of options.
Education is woven throughout the patient experience at his practice. Dr. Alemi provides detailed resources on choosing a facial plastic surgeon, post-operative instructions, and guidance for out-of-town patients considering travel to New York.
His focus on wellness extends beyond the operating room. The practice emphasizes overall patient wellbeing, recognizing that a calm, informed patient tends to experience a smoother recovery and greater satisfaction.
For women in their fifties and sixties considering facial rejuvenation, Dr. Sean Alemi represents an established New York option — a surgeon whose training, media presence, and refined technique make the deep plane facelift accessible and understandable.

4.8 / 5 · 77 Google reviewsExperienced and caring doctor!! He is a great choice especially it you want something subtle! Highly recommend 😊
My experience with Dr. Alemi and his staff was truly fantastic! I had a rhinoplasty and septoplasty with Dr. Alemi 6 months ago, and my healing process has gone smoothly. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I had been planning this surgery for a while and had been doing research. A friend recommended Dr. Alemi, and after my consultation, I felt comfortable. He was patient, thorough, and answered all of my questions. Working with his patient coordinator, Chrissy, was also a pleasure; she was responsive, supportive, and helped ease my nerves throughout the process. On the morning of surgery, I was understandably nervous, but the nurses and Dr.Alemi were phenomenal and made everything go well. I wanted my nose to look improved but still natural. Dr. Alemi did an incredible job removing my dorsal hump, correcting my deviated septum (which also improved my breathing), deprojecting, and slightly lifted my tip while reducing its bulbousness and subtly refining the nostrils. I still look like myself, but my face now feels more balanced, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how my other features are getting more attention. I can’t thank Dr. Alemi and his team enough! I highly recommend him.
I highly recommend Dr. Alemi (and his whole team!) I had a wonderful experience, from my consultation to the surgery to the aftercare. I was listened to, cared for with empathy and thoughtfulness, and celebrated in the end. I do want to call out the nursing staff too - they handled my nerves and needs before and after surgery with such attention and comfort. Also, I very much appreciated Dr. Alemi's approach: he didn't tell me what I needed, he listened to my concerns and then made recommendations. I look like myself - but better! I'm telling everyone who comments on my looks to go see him.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been extremely insecure about my chin, or lack of one. I spent hours searching for doctors because most don’t even advertise this surgery. Then I found Dr. Alemi’s website, which had a whole page on chin augmentation options. His website stood out to me because it answered all my questions. The next day, I called to schedule a consultation. The staff was extremely helpful and positive from the second they answered the phone. Exceptional treatment continued when I visited the office for my consultation. After a couple minutes of meeting with Dr. Alemi and reviewing my options, I knew right away he was the doctor for me and that I wanted to move forward with a chin implant. He made me feel heard, validated, and unbelievably comfortable throughout the entire appointment. There was zero hesitation. I scheduled my chin implant surgery on that same day. About a month later, I went in for the procedure. The nurses, especially Joanne, were amazing, and I felt very secure with my decision throughout the entire experience. The surgery took less than an hour, and I had little to no pain during recovery. My results started showing almost immediately, and I couldn’t be more grateful for Dr. Alemi and his practice. My whole life, I hated my side profile and used to dread wearing my hair up. Now, when I walk outside with my hair up, I feel more confident than ever. This week, I went in for my 3-month post-op check-up, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results! I highly recommend Dr. Alemi and his entire practice.

Dr. Alemi's Surgical Approach
Dr. Sean Alemi performs the deep plane facelift by working beneath the SMAS layer to reposition facial tissue as a unified structure.
Dr. Sean Alemi performs the deep plane facelift by working beneath the SMAS layer to reposition facial tissue as a unified structure. This sub-SMAS approach distinguishes the deep plane technique from older methods that primarily tightened skin.
The SMAS — the superficial musculoaponeurotic system — is a continuous layer of muscle and connective tissue that supports the face. In a deep plane facelift, Dr. Alemi releases the ligaments that anchor this layer, allowing the deeper tissues to be lifted rather than pulled.
